Live-Performance mit "Sparrow" bei Stephen Colbert und "Martha Divine" bei den ACM Awards
Aufregende Woche für Ashley McBryde: erst trat sie in der Late Night Show von Stephen Colbert auf, kurz darauf bei den ACM Awards in Nashville, wo sie obendrein gleich dreimal nominiert war („Album of the Year“ für „Never Will“, „Song of the Year“ für „One Night Stands“ und „Artist of the Year“). Unten kann man die Performance für Stephen Colbert ansehen, wo McBryde den Song „Sparrow“ präsentierte, ein Song des hochgelobten Albums „Never Will“, zu dem die Musikerin sagt:
„I’d been trying to write the title ‘Sparrow’ for a very long time. The first two tattoos on my arms were sparrows. One is facing away from home and one facing toward home, because that’s the one bird that never forgets where it comes from and mates for life – two attributes I would love to see in myself. I got together with six individuals in a living room, and we examined how it feels to be on this end of doing what we love and how it feels to be on the end of our spouses, our loved ones, our parents, and it’s love all the way around. They want us to go out there and do this, and they miss us terribly when we’re gone.”
