"'leave' is a song about not wanting the people that you love to leave" – so beschreibt gnash gegenüber HollywoodLife seinen neuen Song, der damit seht gut in die aktuelle Zeit passt: "We all want somebody to stay, especially right now. We’ve been staying in watching Netflix with the cats & patiently awaiting the Schitt’s Creek finale", so gnash weiter. Im Refrain des Songs klingt das dann so: 

One time and I'm ready to go
Two times and I'm driving you home
It's all my fault if it makes things better
Blame it all on the change in the weather
Three times and I'm ready to blow up
Last time and I'll leave it alone
Say it's all my fault if it makes things better
I'll take the fall, you can wear my sweater

Unten seht ihr das Lyric Video zu "leave", das gnash gemeinsam mit Imad Royal (The Chainsmokers, Panic! At The Disco) produzierte und mit seinen Alternative-Pop-Klängen einen Ausblick darauf gibt, was von der kommenden EP des Musikers zu erwarten ist, die in diesem Jahr erscheinen wird. "leave" folgt auf die in 2020 veröffentlichten Songs "hungover & miss u," und "fear"  des 25-Jährigen aus L.A.
