Für ihre neue Single "Overused" hat sich Clara Mae mit gnash zusammengetan

Wenn man sich in einer Beziehung "Overused" fühlt, ist das wohl nie ein gutes Zeichen. Clara Mae äußert in gleichnamigen Single Gefühle von ausgeprägter Beziehungsmüdigkeit: "Maybe we should leave it as it is? ‘Cause it doesn’t get better than this", singt sie – und ihrem fiktiven Beziehungspartner gnash geht es nicht anders: "We're in that same fight, you're right, admit / I'm afraid that we're getting too good at this / Forgetting who we are". Und doch fällt der Schritt zur Trennung nicht leicht, schließlich ist längst nicht alles schlecht: "Happy tears then I’m feeling sad, best and worst that I ever had."

Clara Mae kommentiert zu dem Song: "What if I leave now before reality kicks in, before the fights and the hurt. Before the overuse. Then I can look back at this and just remember the good, the way we are right now. (…) I've always been a fan of gnash, I love his lyrics and the sad rawness in his music. It was so much fun writing this together and I love the song that came out of it." gnash sagt: "Clara & I wanted to make something to show how it feels to be tired in any relationship or situation. With my partner, the love is always real, but sometimes we can just get exhausted with each other. That's okay, but it’s easily misunderstood when it’s not communicated directly. So with this song, we did our best to clarify that moment."

"Overused" ist ein Vorbote der neuen EP "Drunk on Emotion" von Clara Mae, die am 21. August erscheint und insgesamt acht Tracks enthält.
