Kein Grund zur "Camouflage", der neue Song von The Front Bottoms ist sehr gut

"It feels amazing to share new music with all of you, thanks for your patience" – mit diesen warmen Worten leiten The Front Bottoms im Post unten die Veröffentlichung von "Camouflage" ein, ihrem ersten neuen Material seit der EP "Ann" in 2018. Unten seht ihr das offizielle Video zu dem Song.

Die Band aus New Jersey ist bekannt dafür, ihren Indie-Rock um unterschiedlichste Einflüsse zu erweitern. "Camouflage" ist dafür ein gutes Exempel: eingängige Pop-Melodien, geschrabbelte Indie-Akkorde und druckvolle Rock-Riffs vermischen sich mit dem so lässigen wie leidenschaftlichen Gesang von Brian Sella, der von Rap-Parts durchsetzt ist. Inhaltlich dreht sich "Camouflage" um eine frische Liebe, einen Nervenzusammenbruch und den darauffolgenden Versuch, sich mit der Situation zu arrangieren: "Now I wear camouflage to blend in".

Die Band kommentiert zu ihrem neuen Song und den zurückliegenden Monaten: "We spent a lot of the last year reflecting. There was a lot to think about, a lot to stress about, and a lot to be happy about. We feel lucky about it all, but it’s getting hard to separate real life and the music, or tell which parts even belong to us and which parts belong to you. That’s the best though. We retreated for a while, learned some stuff, then came back and learned some more. You definitely learn more when you’re around the people you love and the people you care about. We made new stuff, lots of art, all different kinds of stuff, some of which will hopefully never leave our heads. A meditation practice, breathing exercises… life is crazy. New song."

"Camouflage" ist der erste Ausblick auf ein neues Album, das The Front Bottoms derzeit in Arbeit haben und in diesem Jahr veröffentlichen wollen.
